Alaska Democratic Resolutions 2006 - NR 7
Seeking the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney and the dismissal of Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz
WHEREAS the Democratic Party supports a strong national defense and strong civil liberties; and
WHEREAS the Project for A New American Century, represented in part by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz seized upon the 9/11 attack as an excuse for their planned invasion of Iraq; and
WHEREAS Congress has not declared a state of war between the U. S. and Iraq; and
WHEREAS the unjustified invasion of Iraq has cost over 2400 American lives and many billions of dollars; and
WHEREAS the Bush administration has authorized felonious warrantless wiretaps despite the clear language of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act which requires court approval, as well as obtaining a preponderance of domestic telephone records; and
WHEREAS the Bush Administration has taken upon itself the power of judicial decision-making in contravention of the Constitutional division among the branches; and
WHEREAS George W. Bush has demonstrate gross incompetence in response to natural disasters, stewardship of the economy and the environment; and
WHEREAS the news media cartels fail to report fully abuses of government or comprehensive national and international news;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska Democratic Party joins the New Mexico Democratic Party in calling for the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska Democratic Party calls for the recall of Paul Wolfowitz as President of the World Bank and the dismissal of Donald Rumsfeld as Secretary of Defense.
