Thank you for your thoughtful letter. I always enjoy hearing from people with different points of view. I think we both want the best for America. We just have different ideas about how to achieve those goals.

It is probably true that Kerry lost the election. If Kerry had won there would be little point in impeaching Bush because Bush would not be President long enough to impeach him. So I don't think that is a valid argument against impeachment.

The point is that President Bush has committed serious crimes in violation of the US Constitution. He is also doing a lousy job at protecting this country but that is not an impeachable offense. It is simply a motivator for me. Bush should face justice because an American President is too powerful to be outside the law.

Also, I want a President who will stand up to terrorists. Bush stopped going after Osama Bin Laden and decided to overthrow some tin-horn dictator just to settle old scores and steal some oil. American troops are dieing because of Bush's misguided invasion of Iraq. We are less secure because of the hatred that Bush has stirred up. Even Canadians hate us now which is pretty hard to do. We have more enemies now than we ever had.

Here are my goals:
- a strong, secure and free America,
- crushing terrorism,
- an honest President that inspires the world to follow the path of
democracy,
- a system of international justice based on law and order.

If you have different goals then fine, you won the election. But that won't stop me from fighting for what I believe is right. But if you have the same goals then maybe we can work together to achieve those goals. Two heads are better than one.

I welcome a polite discussion.

Peace,
Phil
